We were avid RV’ers

Being avid RV’ers for years we were getting tired of searching for weekend sites to go camping at with our 5th Wheel Trailer. It got to the point that we had to find a place on a Wednesday for favorite spot for a two day weekend, and as for 2 or 3 week vacations, one had to book months ahead. With all this hassle, noise at the sites, having to check out between 11 a.m. and noon and the cost of fuel to pull the RV every weekend we decided to look for an alternative for getting away from the city and be out in the country enjoying a relaxing life style.

Seeing an ad on TV about Gleniffer Lake we decide to see what it was all about. After a meeting with the sale staff and a tour of the facility we became attached to this idea being here. Upon checking other similar resorts, we knew this was the place to be due to all the amenities that it offered, and the great location in Central Alberta. Nothing else came close to it.

After purchasing our first lot in 2003 we soon found this was the right decision, so we changed out our small 5th wheel for a larger one. For weekend get-a-ways there was no more having to get there early and we could leave any time on a Sunday. It made every weekend like a long weekend with never having to book ahead for a vacation spot either.

As for the amenities, Gleniffer Lake has them all. With deep water services we can now use our lot in the winter, what other resort can do that? In the summer we can golf on the aggressive nine-hole course, go for a swim in the lake or one of the three pools or just relax in one of the two hot tubs. One pool and hot tub also remain open year-round. There are so many other options one can choose to do here at the Resort from playing tennis, fishing, boating, horse shoes, walking or riding in your golf cart through the seven phases of the development (yes, this is a golf cart community), also lots of history in the Dickson, Spruce View and Innisfail areas to explore.

Another great thing about Gleniffer is all the various functions that occur in the resort for young and old alike. Dining in the Landing Restaurant, Canada Day celebration, Heritage Day festivities, Dances for the teens, Golf tournaments, Halloween in the summer for big and little kids, Lobster Fest, Pig Roast, Poker Rally, Maritime Night and Realtor Appreciation Day just to mention a few.

Now after nine years and being newly retired, we have progressed to living for a better part of the year on our second lot that we purchased in 2006, progressing to an even bigger Park Model Unit that adds to our comfort here at Gleniffer Lake, one of the best kept secrets around Alberta.
