In 2005, I challenged Andrew by telling him to check out the where, the what and how much for owning Alberta resort property instead of just talking and dreaming about it.
On a sunny Sunday afternoon we took a drive to Gleniffer Lake as it was advertised so often on the radio. We had a great tour of the resort from a lady in the front office. We loved the place as it was so well kept and clean with paved roads and so very green as it was on a golf course. We went across the lake to visit friends at Carefree Resort but it seemed to not measure up at all with what we saw earlier that day at Gleniffer. Consequently, we went home to Calgary to contemplate on our insights of the day.
Instead of buying quickly, we decided to check out a few more Alberta recreational properties in and around the Calgary area. We saw many places by booking appointments and/or on the internet but we always came back to our first love, Gleniffer Lake Resort. Andrew booked an appointment with Diane Bender, Realtor for Paradise Realty, to see some properties which were for sale on a Sunday afternoon in early June. Gary and Diane, a great team with a wealth of knowledge on Alberta recreational properties, showed us six places which were for sale. We fell in love with the third one (Phase 2), as it was exactly what we dreamed about owning. It was a beautiful 2 bedroom park model located on a maintenance free lot with trees, flowering shrubs, fireplace and a shed. It backed on the golf course (7th fairway) and was walking distance to pools, lake, marina, store and recreational centre. How PERFECT is that! We purchased this property the next day. Today, we still pinch ourselves to see if it is really true that we own such a beautiful piece of property in this luxurious resort. It has been such a blessing to us and our family.
MeCasa is our all year around haven for rest and relaxation (usually for weekends only) in this quiet lakeside resort that is like PARADISE with its beautiful surroundings of green grass, tall trees, calm lake and the striking skies and sunsets.
We just love it and should have purchased it years ago!
